How to export a GPX file from Garmin Connect
Anything a Garmin watch or Edge has synced is on Garmin Connect, and the website exports it as a GPX file — no cable, no desktop software.
Open the activity on connect.garmin.com

On the activity page, click the gear icon in the top-right corner.Choose “Export to GPX”
The .gpx file lands in your downloads, with the full track, elevation, and timestamps.
Good to know
GPX vs. “Export Original”
“Export Original” gives the raw .fit recording, which most map tools don't read. For putting the ride on a map, Export to GPX is the one you want.
Courses export too
A planned Course has the same export in its own gear menu — useful when you want the planned route rather than the ride.
Now give the file a home.
Drop the GPX into Pedaltales and it becomes a tour on your map — beside every trip you've ever done. Free, no ads, and no account to connect: the file is all it needs. With a few tours in, make one picture of all of them.
Start your atlas — it's freeNo password, no credit card, no Strava account to connect. Just your email.
